Contacting a Client
Due to the strict Confidentiality laws protecting clients, it may seem difficult to contact clients who are in residential treatment. Please remember to be patient with staff who can only provide you with information about your loved one with written permission from the client. Sacred Heart staff understand your concerns but they must also follow the law.
TO DROP OFF BELONGINGS
Clients may receive items such as money, clothing, shoes and personal hygiene items while they are in treatment. These items are accepted at our residential locations daily from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. You may drop off personal items to any of our outpatient locations for a client in a residential treatment facility. Please make arrangements with Sacred Heart staff to assure pick up.
When dropping off money for a client, a receipt will be issued to the person leaving the money. When sending money, do not send cash or personal checks. Rather, use cashier checks or money orders made out to the client and for a value not to exceed $100.00; Sacred Heart cannot cash cashier’s checks or money orders over $100.00.
BY MAIL or PHONE
To allow time for our clients in our detoxification or residential programs to fully commit to and engage in their individualized treatment program we strongly discourage telephone contacts from loved ones in the first week. While this may be difficult it allows the client to concentrate on building a foundation for sustained recovery. Cellphones, purses, bags, weapons, medications, recording devices, food and beverages are not permitted in the facilities.
